Global Freeze Get a Modifier at the Beginning

Chapter 370: Qu Baoguo’s call for help

It was only after seeing the radio that Liang Yu remembered Xiao Qu, almost forgetting about him.

He couldn’t be blamed; after all, he had been receiving a lot of information recently and hadn’t quite processed it yet.

He simply didn’t have the energy to worry about Qu Baoguo’s situation, especially since, in his opinion, with so many weapons and ammunition provided, Qu Baoguo and his men would be able to protect themselves in the future.

At this moment, Liang Yu picked up the radio. The crackling of static echoed in the silence as Liang Yu called out into the radio,

“Respond if you hear me!”

Soon, a faint, intermittent voice finally came from the other side,

“Mr. Liang… Mr. Liang, I… I finally reached you.”

Liang Yu frowned after hearing this. Qu Baoguo seemed to be in a very bad state, so he quickly asked him,

“What’s going on?”

Qu Baoguo panted heavily, his voice full of pain and exhaustion.

“These… these past few days, we’ve been attacked by Underground Monsters. Those monsters are truly terrifying.”

“At… at first, it was fine. There weren’t many, and with… with the ammunition supplied by Mr. Liang, we… *cough cough*… we could easily repel them.”

“But with the depletion of ammunition and the… the increase in the number of Underground Monsters, we estimate we can only last two more days at most.”

“Mr. Liang, please… please save the Survivors.”

After listening, Liang Yu sighed, then asked Qu Baoguo,

“Save them, but what about you?”

At this moment, Liang Yu actually heard Qu Baoguo laugh happily.

“Thank you for your concern, Mr. Liang.”

“My… my physical condition, I… *cough cough*… I know very well, it’s truly beyond saving.”

Qu Baoguo wasn’t lying about this. Originally, with Liang Yu’s medicine, he would have basically recovered if he had changed his dressings daily and rested quietly for a period of time.

However, the situation made it impossible for Qu Baoguo to rest quietly, so the injured Qu Baoguo appeared on the front lines, and eventually, his body could no longer hold on and he collapsed.

Liang Yu had already mobilized the Satellite to check the situation on site. He could ignore the Survivors, but he intended to save Qu Baoguo.

Perhaps Qu Baoguo truly wasn’t suited to survive in this world, but looking at him, Liang Yu always saw a reflection of his past self.

Rather than saying he was helping Qu Baoguo, it was more like he was treating Qu Baoguo as his former self. For no other reason than this, he couldn’t let Qu Baoguo die like this.

Liang Yu stared at the images transmitted by the Satellite. The area outside the Survivor base was in chaos.

The Underground Monsters were massive and grotesque, exuding a chilling aura. They lunged at the Survivors with bared fangs and claws.

Although the Survivors resisted tenaciously, they were clearly at a disadvantage. Some fought the monsters in close combat with makeshift weapons, while others in the rear tried to find opportunities to counterattack. Screams of agony continuously echoed.

Smoke and dust filled the underground space, and flashes of blood gleamed. The monsters’ attacks were fierce and brutal; each limb swing made the ground tremble.

Yet, the Survivors did not retreat, relying on their strong will to survive, their tacit cooperation, and their suppressive fire to barely hold on.

Liang Yu’s gaze searched every corner of the screen, leaving no stone unturned. He was looking for Qu Baoguo.

However, as the battle continued, he still couldn’t find that familiar face. It seemed they still had some conscience and hadn’t sent the severely injured Qu Baoguo to the battlefield.

Liang Yu looked at the smoke-filled battlefield, as if he could smell the pungent odor filling his nostrils, with shouts and roars intertwined.

He noticed that the Survivors gripped their weapons tightly, their gazes grim as another wave of Underground Monsters surged towards them like a tide.

There was no despair in their eyes, only a determination to drag the enemy down with them.

Liang Yu knew that the situation was critical. If he didn’t act now, even if the Survivors won, very few of them would survive.

Just then, the Satellite’s attacks came like thunder, one after another. Dazzling beams of light streaked across the sky, precisely targeting the monster horde.

Immediately, deafening explosions shook the ground, and flames shot skyward. Monsters hit by the beams instantly turned to dust, their body fragments scattering everywhere.

However, the Underground Monsters did not seem to be completely annihilated by this powerful attack; some remaining Underground Monsters still charged madly towards the Survivor’s position.

Seeing only a few Underground Monsters left, Liang Yu no longer concerned himself with the main battlefield and turned to enter Qu Baoguo’s base.

Inside the base, a pungent smell of gunpowder lingered, and the surroundings were a mess, with several corpses of Underground Monsters nearby.

It seemed that the previous wave of Underground Monsters had broken through their defenses and stormed into the base. They must have paid a heavy price to kill these few Underground Monsters.

Liang Yu moved through the base, searching room after room for Qu Baoguo.

Suddenly, he found the severely injured and dying Qu Baoguo in the corner of a room.

Qu Baoguo was covered in blood, his face ashen, his eyes tightly shut, his chest rising and falling weakly, his vital signs extremely faint.

After finding Qu Baoguo, Liang Yu didn’t rush over but instead observed the surroundings.

There were no other injured Survivors in this room, only Qu Baoguo. After confirming there was no danger in the room, Liang Yu approached Qu Baoguo.

After reconfirming Qu Baoguo’s current physical condition, he breathed a sigh of relief. As long as he wasn’t dead, it was fine. He no longer delayed and took out a recovery spray from his backpack.

Liang Yu aimed the spray at Qu Baoguo’s wounds. As the fine mist sprayed out, Qu Baoguo’s wounds began to show some changes.

The continuously seeping blood gradually stopped, and the skin around the wounds began to heal at a visible rate.

Liang Yu’s entire treatment process was recorded. This data would be useful to him later.

After using the entire bottle of spray on Qu Baoguo, Liang Yu stared at Qu Baoguo’s face and noticed that Qu Baoguo’s originally pale complexion had returned to a healthy rosy color.

Even his breathing had become stable. It seemed he had underestimated the effect of this recovery spray derived from the medical kit; one bottle was enough to restore Qu Baoguo.

He then realized that perhaps the spray’s efficacy was related to the user’s physical condition.

Speaking of this recovery spray, after use, it causes cells to rapidly divide and self-replicate, thus achieving the effect of bringing the dead back to life and healing broken bones.

However, this was merely the superficial appearance that he, with his limited perspective, observed. As for other aspects, there must be many things he hadn’t yet discovered.

While considering the spray, urgent footsteps suddenly sounded outside the room. Liang Yu, after treating Qu Baoguo, had no intention of staying long.
