Global Freeze Get a Modifier at the Beginning

Chapter 243: Abandoned Village

Mu Yunxi casually grabbed a bottle of milk and some snacks from a nearby counter.

She slumped over the table, listlessly stuffing food into her mouth, taking a gulp of milk whenever she felt thirsty.

After eating some food and drinking the cold milk, she finally felt a bit more awake.

But this awakening turned out to be a problem; previously, in her hazy state, she hadn’t paid much attention to external matters.

Now that she was fully awake, she naturally heard the sounds of intimacy coming from the living room.

Mu Yunxi, being inexperienced, immediately blushed; although she hadn’t eaten pork, she had heard pigs run.

There were only a few people in the RV, and the man was naturally her brother-in-law, Liang Yu; as for the other, it was obvious.

Mu Yunxi, who had originally intended to go straight back to her room to rest, suddenly seemed to be frozen in place.

After listening to the sounds for three or four minutes, Mu Yunxi actually started walking towards the living room.

In no time, she reached the side of the living room, peeking her head out to watch Liang Yu and Lan Ling.

At this moment, Liang Yu stood up, holding Lan Ling in his arms in front of him.

Upon seeing such a shocking scene, Mu Yunxi immediately let out a shriek.

Fortunately, Liang Yu had noticed Mu Yunxi as she approached and paid attention, otherwise, he really would have been startled.

Lan Ling, however, had a much worse experience; she was lost in enjoyment and was directly pulled back to reality by the scream.

She seemed to hear her younger sister Mu Yunxi’s voice, and a bold idea arose in her mind.

At this moment, she didn’t forget to glance at Liang Yu, and after only a moment’s hesitation, she made her decision.

Looking at the flustered Mu Yunxi who was turning to run away, she directly called out to her.

“Yunxi!”

“Wait! Don’t go yet!”

Mu Yunxi, who was already somewhat flustered, became even more terrified when Lan Ling called out to her, especially given Lan Ling’s state at the time.

The sound of her voice also carried a hint of seductiveness.

When Mu Yunxi heard it, she shivered all over, no longer caring that Lan Ling had called out to her. She took one last, reluctant look.

Then she hurriedly ran back.

Just like that, the night passed, and the next morning, around five o’clock, Liang Yu woke up.

Looking at the little wife he held in his arms, he recalled the absurd night, the entire RV filled with the places where they had ‘battled’.

He turned and picked up Lan Ling, carefully carrying her back to the room.

When Liang Yu reappeared, he was neatly dressed, and he then went to the cockpit.

After surviving yesterday’s disaster, he had only flown to a safe area, and the RV was still suspended in the air.

Taking advantage of the fact that the sun hadn’t appeared in the sky yet, Liang Yu quickly lowered the RV’s altitude and searched for a hidden spot nearby.

When the RV was less than ten meters from the ground, Liang Yu saw a figure flash across the ground nearby.

Although he was curious about this figure, who was still out and about so close to dawn, he wondered why they were so reckless.

More importantly, the other party’s speed was very fast, which was probably why they were so brazen.

However, the immediate priority was to find a place to park the RV, otherwise, he would have to release the Doomsday Fortress.

Now he could only open the map to see his current location.

Fortunately, Liang Yu found a village on the map.

However, there was a special mark next to this village that Liang Yu didn’t understand, and he didn’t have time to think about it now.

He quickly rushed towards the village’s location, and it wasn’t until Liang Yu arrived above the village that he realized what was before him was not a village at all, but clearly a stockade.

Liang Yu slowly lowered the RV to an open space within the stockade.

He checked the time, still having plenty, then had Mario get out of the vehicle.

After getting out of the vehicle, Mario picked up his weapon and vigilantly surveyed his surroundings, only to find the stockade eerily quiet; besides the rustling of leaves in the wind, there was no other sound.

The houses were built from wood, about twenty centimeters off the ground, and looked quite peculiar.

Mario cautiously walked towards one of the houses, surveyed it from outside for a while, then gently pushed open the door; an old scent permeated the interior.

Just as he was about to explore further, a slight sound came from behind him.

He spun around, but in Mario’s line of sight, he only saw a black shadow flash by.

Liang Yu, inside the RV, saw the black shadow again, and now he didn’t know whether to feel nervous or excited.

Although Liang Yu wanted to know what the black shadow’s true form was, he didn’t have that much time now.

He quickly had Mario search a few nearby wooden houses; the dust on the tabletops and the degree of decay of the furniture in the houses clearly indicated they had been abandoned for a long time.

With no other option, Liang Yu could only order Mario to return to the RV, then quickly went to the foot of a mountain, using his previous method to carve out a cave in the mountainside to park the RV.

Liang Yu didn’t know that after he left, several more black shadows appeared in the stockade, all looking in the direction the RV had departed.

It wasn’t until the sun rose that the high temperature once again dominated the daytime, causing these black shadows to quickly disperse, presumably to avoid the heat.

After Liang Yu had settled the RV, he began operating the drone to head towards the Chemical Factory.

As the drone’s footage transmitted, the Chemical Factory was a mess, with shattered building debris everywhere, and some unknown substances emitting strange light.

Just then, the drone’s footage suddenly experienced interference, and the screen was full of static.

Liang Yu wondered if these drones were broken, and he considered whether he should try to fix them later by hitting them, remembering that many appliances worked after a good whack.

Although he thought so, his hands were busily adjusting the drone’s signal frequency, but no matter how he adjusted it, it was useless.

Liang Yu frowned, a premonition of ill omen in his heart. Just as he was about to give up controlling the drone, the screen suddenly returned to normal.

However, what came into view was a figure, faintly visible in the ruins, as if searching for something.

Liang Yu’s heart skipped a beat; could there be other survivors?

But he immediately dismissed this idea; it was impossible for anyone to have survived such a massive explosion yesterday.

So, the person he discovered had come to the site of the Chemical Factory explosion today. However, Liang Yu had a question: how were they walking on the scorching hot slabs in such hot weather?

So he maneuvered the drone closer to the figure and found it was a young man wearing a protective suit.

The young man seemed to notice the drone’s presence, looked up at the camera, his eyes filled with fatigue and vigilance.

At the same time, the careful Liang Yu noticed that the other party seemed to be purposefully searching for something on his body, which instantly made him connect it to yesterday’s explosion, wondering if it was related to this person.
