Beast Taming: Starting From Zero

Chapter 693: Battle for supremacy over water and high altitude

Nine Realms Amusement Park.

As night fell, the amusement park glittered with a dreamlike, dazzling light.

As the most popular amusement park in the First District, there was a continuous stream of visitors every day.

After buying her ticket, Qiao Sang held Lu Bao and followed the signs to the Water-type Pet themed area.

Nine Realms Amusement Park had built nine themed areas based on the Pet attributes most favored by Yu Beast Masters, according to past statistics.

These were Dragon-type, Fairy-type, Superpower System, Fire-type, Water-type, Grass-type, Electric-type, Flying-type, and Fighting-type.

Yu Beast Masters with Pets of a certain attribute could bring their Pets to the relevant themed area to participate in various amusement activities. If they won first place in a project, the fee for that activity would be waived.

Among all Water-type Pets, Lu Bao was considered one of the top-tier in appearance, and it was not yet a Super Dormant Star Pet.

Its exquisite and never-before-seen appearance immediately drew the attention of those around it as soon as it appeared in the Water-type Pet themed area.

Everyone just whispered, pulled out their Pet Identifiers or phones to take pictures, but did not approach.

“Ice Ke?”

Lu Bao ignored everyone’s gazes, glanced to the side, and called out, indicating, “Isn’t this a place to play?”

“Ya Ya.”

Ya Bao followed beside its Yu Beast Master, and hearing Lu Bao’s words, it nodded in agreement.

Qiao Sang smiled and said, “Don’t worry, many projects allow for battles while playing.”

She had considered taking Lu Bao directly to the Pet arena, but in Pet arena battles, if you lost, you had to leave, and it was one battle at a time, not a place to quickly collect Points.

Only by directly defeating a group of Scale Armor Moths, like Ya Bao did previously, could Points be accumulated at the fastest speed.

Unfortunately, the First District was not like the Lower Tenth District; it was almost impossible for a group of wild Pets that needed to be driven away to appear. She could only find other ways to have direct Pet 1-vs-many battles.

Qiao Sang scanned the surrounding entertainment facilities and finally fixed her gaze on an entertainment project labeled “Aquatic High-Altitude Competition.”

Er’ma had mentioned it when Qiao Sang was training at the club and chatting.

She said there was an entertainment project in the Water-type Pet themed area where all Water-type Pets would wear equipment with buttons and be strapped to Flying devices, allowing them to fly up and land intermittently while on the water.

During this time, they would attack each other with Water-type skills. If a button was hit and lit up, the opponent would be eliminated. The last Water-type Pet remaining on the water would be the first place winner, and the fee would be waived.

It was also fine to directly knock out an opponent, as this was common in these competitive entertainment projects.

The amusement park even had a dedicated free Healing area for this purpose.

People from Super Dormant Star usually had a purpose when playing entertainment projects with their Pets; purely recreational projects were rarely played. Instead, entertainment projects that could train certain aspects of Pets were very popular.

Qiao Sang decided on “Aquatic High-Altitude Competition” and went to queue with Lu Bao in her arms.

“Later, just use Water-type skills. Don’t use Ice skills,” Qiao Sang instructed about the game’s rules. “This entertainment project only allows Water-type skills.”

“Ice Ke.”

Lu Bao nodded with a serious expression.

“You’ll suddenly rise into the air later, don’t be afraid. This equipment is very safe; it just adds some difficulty to your attacks,” Qiao Sang said, still worried.

“Ice Ke.”

Lu Bao nodded, indicating it understood.

How to play this project was public; it had just seen it.

“Also, if another Pet’s equipped button has already been attacked and turned red, don’t continue to attack it,” Qiao Sang continued to instruct.

“Ice Ke.”

Lu Bao nodded.

“Oh, right.” Qiao Sang suddenly thought of something else and said, “This is just an entertainment project. It’s okay if you don’t get first place, don’t feel pressured. We can keep trying.”

“Ice Ke…”

Lu Bao felt its Yu Beast Master was a bit long-winded.

“Ya Ya!”

Qiao Sang was about to say something else when Ya Bao, wagging its tail, called out from beside her, indicating that it wanted to play too.

“Next time,” Qiao Sang said, looking down. “This is only for Water-type Pets. Next time, I’ll take you to the Fire-type Pet exclusive themed area.”

“Ya Ya…”

Ya Bao drooped its tail, showing a “fine” expression.

Soon, it looked excitedly at the “Aquatic High-Altitude Competition” project ongoing nearby.

Ya Bao seems to no longer dislike water at all… Qiao Sang felt a little relieved.

Twenty minutes later, it was Qiao Sang’s turn.

The Staff showed an expression of amazement when they saw Lu Bao, then unconsciously lightened their movements while putting the equipment on it.

“Go for it,” Qiao Sang encouraged.

“Ya Ya!” Ya Bao also called out, indicating “Go for it!”

“Ice Ke.”

Lu Bao looked at its Yu Beast Master, then at Ya Bao, and then walked with determined steps towards the artificial pool area of the Aquatic High-Altitude Competition project.

Its expression was not like it was going to play an entertainment project, but rather to participate in some important competition.

In the Aquatic High-Altitude Competition project, a total of 30 Pets participated at once.

Various forms of Water-type Pets wore black vests with buttons, and on their backs were jet-powered Flying devices controlled by the Staff.

Qiao Sang took Ya Bao and found a seat in the viewing area.

Those sitting there were Yu Beast Masters whose Water-type Pets were participating in this round of the Aquatic High-Altitude Competition project.

“What’s your Water-type Pet called? It’s really pretty,” a black-haired woman, who looked to be in her early twenties, leaned over and asked.

As she spoke, she looked down at Ya Bao: “And this one, I’ve never seen it before.”

“That one is Ice Kexilu, and this one is Flame Qilu,” Qiao Sang replied.

“The names are nice too,” the woman praised.

Qiao Sang didn’t mind casually chatting with a polite stranger: “What Water-type Pet are you participating with?”

As they spoke, the Aquatic High-Altitude Competition project had already begun.

Many blue Water-type Pets were suddenly shot into the sky by the jet-powered Flying devices, causing continuous screams of fright.

The woman pointed to a small, shell-backed Water-type Pet in the sky and laughed:

“That Coin Turtle is my Pet. It’s too timid and afraid of heights. I want it to play this to build its courage.”

No sooner had she spoken than from the direction of the pool, a Water Gun, thicker than the Coin Turtle’s body, suddenly sprayed onto the Coin Turtle.

“Zhi Zhi!”

The already screaming Coin Turtle fell into the pool, then floated to the surface with its eyes closed, looking peaceful.

The woman: “…”

Qiao Sang remained silent beside her.

She had seen it clearly just now; the Water-type Pet that attacked the Coin Turtle was Lu Bao…

“Ya!”

Ya Bao looked in the direction of the pool and barked excitedly, indicating, “Third Bro, well done!”

Qiao Sang: “…”

Fortunately, Lu Bao wasn’t nearby…
