Beast Taming: Starting From Zero
Chapter 636: Everyone has a ghost pet beast
When the boy’s eyes regained their light, he found himself on a bustling street.
His face showed shock and bewilderment.
After a few seconds of daze, the boy exclaimed, “Is this Teleportation?”
“No, this is Space Movement,” Qiao Sang corrected.
Was there a difference between Teleportation and Space Movement? The boy, who hadn’t undergone systematic training, didn’t quite understand.
But he knew now wasn’t the time to be curious about such things.
“You truly are a powerful Yu Beast Master,” the boy said to Qiao Sang, his tone sincere.
Qiao Sang accepted the flattery with a clear conscience and said,
“Let’s find a place to sit first. I’ll call the police again.”
“Okay.” The boy nodded obediently, having no objections.
The two walked into a coffee shop across the street.
After ordering, Qiao Sang looked around and casually picked a seat.
The boy sat opposite her.
Qiao Sang dialed the emergency number, informed them of her current location, and then hung up.
“Now, can you tell me what’s going on?” Qiao Sang asked.
The boy observed his surroundings, then after a few seconds of silence, he said,
“My name is Tim, and I’m from the 26th District. Two years ago, someone said they’d introduce me to a job, and then they brought me to the 19th District.”
At this point, a pained expression appeared on his face: “I didn’t know they were doing these kinds of things. They made me steal, made me pretend to be pitiful to scam money, and sometimes even made me lure ill-tempered wild Pets to crowded places.”
“I just wanted to go out and earn some money. Later, I found out that many people like me were tricked into coming here, and some were even abducted by them.”
“I thought about escaping, but some of them were Yu Beast Masters, so I couldn’t escape at all.”
“So I thought of stealing from those Yu Beast Masters because only a Yu Beast Master could possibly resist another Yu Beast Master. But those Yu Beast Masters either let me go or just beat me up, until I met you.”
Steel Treasure listened quietly from the side, a thoughtful expression on its face.
So, humans could be this miserable too…
It’s pretty much what I thought; they’re indeed being controlled… But what the heck is luring ill-tempered wild Pets to crowded places? Is there a way to make money from that…? Qiao Sang didn’t dwell on this question and instead asked,
“Are they an organization? How many people are there? Are there many Yu Beast Masters?”
Tim thought for a moment and replied,
“They are definitely an organization. I don’t know the exact number of people, but I know there are quite a few Yu Beast Masters, and…”
When mentioning this, he subconsciously glanced at Xiao Xunbao beside him and continued, “Those Yu Beast Masters almost all have a Ghost-type Pet.”
“Xiao Xunbao…”
Xiao Xunbao pouted. Just say it, why did he have to look at her when he said that…
Ghost-type Pet… Qiao Sang was no longer the rookie who had to search online for answers to every problem. Upon hearing this, she immediately thought of some sayings related to Ghost-type.
The evolution paths and energy absorption methods of different Pets varied greatly. Most Ghost-type Pets fed on strange energies, converting them into their own.
For example, human dreams, resentment, fear, regret, and even life…
No wonder… She just knew something felt off…
How much money could you steal? Yu Beast Masters had a high social status on Super Dormant Star and could do many things. Even fighting a couple of Pet arena matches could earn them what an ordinary person might take a month to earn from work.
And there was no profit in luring ill-tempered wild Pets into crowds, but if they wanted to collect emotions of fear for their Ghost-type Pet, then it wasn’t hard to understand… After Qiao Sang sorted out her thoughts, she comforted him,
“It’s all over now. Just wait for the police to arrive and tell them what you know.”
She didn’t plan to get involved in this matter further. A group of Yu Beast Masters with Ghost-type Pets gathered together could do anything outrageous. Tricky matters should be left to the police to resolve.
Tim nodded:
“Yes, I know.”
“Miss, your coffee and milk.” The waiter brought the drinks over.
Qiao Sang pushed the milk forward and said, “I ordered this for you.”
“Thank you…” Tim was startled at first, then carefully picked up the cup and took a sip.
Just then, a man in a police uniform pushed the door open and walked in.
Because his clothes were too conspicuous, Qiao Sang spotted him immediately.
The man had a thick beard, and he was tall but not burly.
He first looked around, as if searching for something, then his gaze fell on Qiao Sang. After observing her for a few moments, he walked straight over:
“Hello, did you call the police?”
Qiao Sang nodded slightly: “It was me.”
The bearded police officer looked at Tim and confirmed, “Is this the boy who stole your things on the subway?”
Tim stood up and stood aside cautiously.
“It’s true that he stole something,” Qiao Sang said, “but he was being controlled by someone.”
“It seems the case is a bit complicated. I’ll have to take him to the police station.” The bearded police officer gave Tim a deep look and said, “Please come with me.”
Tim didn’t feel excited by the arrival of the police. He looked at Qiao Sang and asked earnestly,
“Can you tell me your name?”
Qiao Sang didn’t answer him. Instead, she took a sip of the coffee in front of her and asked,
“Don’t I need to go to the police station too?”
The bearded police officer was stunned for a moment, then chuckled, “No, you don’t.”
With that, he pulled Tim, who was beside him, and prepared to leave.
Tim didn’t move. He looked at the young Yu Beast Master who had helped him, his face full of anticipation, hoping she would tell him her name.
Qiao Sang put down her coffee cup, rubbed her throbbing temples, and said lightly,
“I’m afraid I can’t let you take him.”
“Why?” The bearded police officer frowned.
Because I’m too familiar with the process of reporting to the police station. You’re full of flaws. There are so many people here, and as soon as you came in, you confirmed I called the police before I even spoke. Most importantly, you’re not even asking me, the caller, to give a statement. What are you thinking…? Qiao Sang silently complained in her heart, maintaining a calm demeanor and a profound expression.
Tim seemed to realize something, showing a frightened expression and struggling hard to break free from the bearded man’s grip.
The bearded man didn’t know where he had gone wrong, and his face darkened, but he still maintained the persona of a police officer and said,
“If you don’t cooperate, I can only resort to coercive measures.”
As soon as his voice fell, a voice sounded in his ear: “Xiao Xunbao.”
The bearded man’s heart tightened. He released Tim’s arm and shouted, “Shadow Ambush!”
A dark shadow suddenly darted out from the bearded man’s shadow, attacking along the ground towards Qiao Sang’s direction.
Just as the dark shadow was about to land on Qiao Sang, she suddenly disappeared from her original spot, including Yabao, Xiao Xunbao, and Steel Treasure.
The bearded man’s eyes widened, then he seemed to remember something and turned his head, only to see that Tim, who should have been beside him, had also disappeared.
“!!!”
The bearded man couldn’t hold back and cursed, “Fuck!”
He took a deep breath and immediately strode out, preparing to leave.
“Sir!” A staff member called out to him.
The bearded man turned his head, his face ugly.
The staff member mustered his courage and said, “That young lady hasn’t paid yet.”
The bearded man: “.”
In a narrow alley, Tim looked fearful: “Was that man not a police officer just now?”
“Probably not,” Qiao Sang said.
Tim was stunned and speechless.
Her phone vibrated at that moment.
Qiao Sang glanced at the caller ID but chose not to answer.
“No need to wait for the police, I’ll just send you over directly,” Qiao Sang said.
