Beast Taming: Starting From Zero
Chapter 6: fire tooth dog
Soon, the Fire Fang Dog disappeared under the light of the star array.
A blank page in Qiao Sang’s mind, in her yu beast codex, suddenly lit up, and a lifelike Fire Fang Dog appeared on it.
At the same time, in the blank space of the yu beast codex:
【Name: Fire Fang Dog】
【Attribute: Fire】
【Level: Beginner (63/1000) +】
【Skills: Bite (Beginner 73/100) +, Ram (Proficient 133/500) +, Fire Fang (Beginner 1/100) +】
【Point: 0】
A few simple and easy-to-understand lines of text appeared clearly before Qiao Sang.
Qiao Sang was bewildered.
Did the yu beast codex introduce these things?
No, it didn’t, right?
She remembered that the yu beast codex’s functions were only for contracting and serving as a space for Pet, and there was no such system-like thing at all.
But Qiao Sang wasn’t so sure about her memory, because the original owner was, after all, a poor student with too many knowledge blind spots.
However… this might, perhaps, truly be a Gold Finger!
Everything would have to wait until she left here to be verified.
Qiao Sang suppressed her excitement and formed the summoning hand seal.
The next second, a white star array appeared on the ground, and starlight gathered around it, revealing an excited Fire Fang Dog.
“Ya!”
The Fire Fang Dog barked at Qiao Sang.
Because of the contract, Qiao Sang easily understood her Pet’s meaning.
It wanted to try entering the yu beast codex again.
Qiao Sang smiled dotingly and formed the hand seal to recall the Fire Fang Dog.
As soon as it went in, the Fire Fang Dog barked again inside the yu beast codex, wanting to come out.
Qiao Sang agreed without hesitation. As soon as the Fire Fang Dog came out, it happily wagged its red tail.
“Ya!”
Qiao Sang smiled and put it back.
The next moment, she let it out again.
The Fire Fang Dog blinked its black eyes.
“Ya!”
Qiao Sang’s smile stiffened slightly. After a pause, she still put it back into the yu beast codex.
When the Fire Fang Dog came out, its eyes were full of anticipation as it looked at Qiao Sang.
“Ya!”
It still wanted to play!
Qiao Sang: “…”
When Ye Xiangting returned, she saw her daughter forming hand seals with a numb expression, sometimes recalling the Fire Fang Dog, and sometimes letting it out again.
Ye Xiangting asked doubtfully, “Sang Sang, what are you doing?”
Qiao Sang said expressionlessly, “I’m playing.”
…
…
Qiao Sang did not go home directly after leaving the Hanggang Pet Beast Base, but instead went to the Hang Port Beast Center.
According to alliance regulations, all Pet contracted by Yu Beast Master must be registered at the Yu Beast Center within seven working days.
In this era, contracting a Pet does not mean you can safely take it home to raise; first, you must register its household, otherwise it will be an unregistered resident.
Human residential cities prohibit wild extraordinary creatures from entering. If an unregistered one is found, it will be directly taken away by the Patrol Department as a wild extraordinary creature.
It is not uncommon for wild extraordinary creatures to attack humans; on the contrary, news reports about humans being attacked by extraordinary creatures appear every now and then.
To ensure human safety, especially for ordinary people whose brain regions have not awakened, the alliance prohibits the existence of wild extraordinary creatures within cities.
However, extraordinary creatures come in various types, all possessing mysterious extraordinary powers. Beast-type extraordinary creatures are easier to detect, but spirit-type and ghost-type extraordinary creatures are very difficult to see once they hide.
Therefore, the alliance established the Patrol Department specifically to deal with such matters.
From the Hanggang Pet Beast Base to home, a turn in the road led directly to the Hang Port Beast Center, which was also convenient.
At that turn, her mother rode her Faith Weng and left first, saying she had something to do, leaving the Fat Home Dove for her to ride.
Qiao Sang arrived at the Hang Port Beast Center at 11:32 AM, with only 28 minutes left until the Yu Beast Center closed.
This type of information registration did not have only one window like brain region testing, but rather 16 windows available for information registration.
Qiao Sang took a number and found a seat.
The Fat Home Dove stood quietly by her side, guarding, while the Fire Fang Dog was held in her arms, its eyes darting around, clearly curious about its surroundings.
“Number 06556, please proceed to Window 12.”
“Number 06556, please proceed to Window 12.”
Qiao Sang looked down at the number in her hand, 06557, and then at the time, 11:52 AM.
It seemed it wouldn’t be her turn this morning.
“Number 06557, please proceed to Window 12.”
Number 06556 apparently hadn’t gone, so Qiao Sang’s number was called directly.
Qiao Sang sprang up with the Fire Fang Dog in her arms; it seemed her luck was good today.
Arriving at Window 12, she was greeted by a young man with a buzz cut.
“Hello, how can I help you?”
Qiao Sang pulled out her information card from her pocket and handed it over, “I’m here to register a Pet.”
The buzz-cut youth took the information card and placed it on the scanner. After looking at it for a while, he said, “Hello, it shows here that you are not yet a Yu Beast Master, so you cannot register a Pet.”
Qiao Sang was stunned for a moment, then said, “Then let’s register the Yu Beast Master first.”
The buzz-cut youth said, “Please show your brain region certificate.”
This was Qiao Sang’s first time registering as a Yu Beast Master, and she didn’t know that a brain region certificate was also required.
“I didn’t bring it,” Qiao Sang said helplessly.
Then she held up the Fire Fang Dog in her arms, “Doesn’t this prove I’m a Yu Beast Master?”
The buzz-cut youth silently glanced at the time on the computer, 11:58 AM, and replied, “No.”
“Why?” Qiao Sang asked, puzzled.
“Are you done? If you don’t have all your documents, hurry up and move aside.” An impatient female voice came from behind her.
Qiao Sang turned her head and saw a girl wearing a Xiehe Yu Beast High School uniform standing behind her.
The girl glanced at Qiao Sang. She had long, narrow, upturned eyes that easily made people uncomfortable when she looked down.
Seeing that Qiao Sang didn’t speak, she directly bypassed Qiao Sang and handed over the numbered paper in her hand, “I’m number 06556, I’m before her. Please process mine first, I need to modify some Pet information.”
Qiao Sang frowned and stood up, ready to give way. Although this person’s attitude was very annoying, she indeed had incomplete documents.
The buzz-cut youth refused the girl, saying, “Here, if you miss your number, you have to re-queue.”
Then he returned the information card to Qiao Sang, “Yu Beast Master registration requires proof and a photo.”
It was exactly 12 o’clock. The buzz-cut youth turned the sign at the window and smiled, “We’re off work. You can come back in the afternoon.” After saying that, he left his workstation.
Neither of them got their business done. Qiao Sang didn’t mind; this was something she had only thought of doing because it was on the way.
But the girl in the high school uniform’s face fell, “It’s all your fault. If it weren’t for you, I would have finished my business.”
Qiao Sang got up and left.
A hand stopped her, “Hey, didn’t you hear me talking to you?”
Qiao Sang looked bewildered, glanced around, and asked, “Are you talking to me?”
“Is there anyone else here?” The girl’s upturned eyes widened.
Bystander A and Bystander B silently walked by at that moment.
