Beast Taming: Starting From Zero

Chapter 585: remember

“Mu Mu…”

The Mu La Monster recovered and, hearing the question, silently took a step back.

“You don’t want to?” Qiao Sang saw the Mu La Monster’s movement and understood its thoughts without even needing Steel Treasure to translate.

She had already captured the Mu La Monster, and she could completely ignore its wishes and just leave it here. However, everything the Mu La Monster had done earlier was clearly for the group of Scale Armor Moths inside the house.

If not for it, no one would have known when the Scale Armor Moths would be discovered.

Moreover, according to the task publisher’s description, the Mu La Monster only created trash outside the door, attempting to cause damage inside the house, and did not attack anyone.

Thinking about it now, creating trash might have been to make the task publisher unable to endure and move, and causing damage was to make the task publisher discover the Scale Armor Moths.

Facing such a benevolent Mu La Monster, Qiao Sang felt a bit reluctant to just abandon it. After all, wild Pets also have environments they prefer, and if they stay in a place they cannot adapt to, their lifespan will be shortened.

“What kind of environment do you like? I’ll help you find it,” Qiao Sang said.

“Mu Mu…”

The Mu La Monster then realized that the human in front of it was truly asking for its opinion. It called out with a hesitant expression, indicating if it could be sent back.

“No,” under Xiao Xunbao’s translation, Qiao Sang refused without thinking.

Completing the task was the priority. If the Mu La Monster insisted on going back, then she would have no choice but to leave it here directly.

“Mu Mu.”

The Mu La Monster was silent at first, then its expression became firm.

It just wanted to go back and take one look; after that, it would leave.

“Xun Xun.”

Xiao Xunbao translated, mimicking the Mu La Monster’s expression and tone.

Qiao Sang gazed at the Mu La Monster, silent for a moment, then asked:

“Who are you going to see?”

The Mu La Monster looked at the human in front of it and said nothing.

A few seconds later, Qiao Sang said with a helpless tone:

“I understand.”

The Yu Beast Center’s task handover form was synchronized to her phone, clearly stating the task location.

After recalling Steel Treasure into the yu beast codex, Qiao Sang left Na Da Peng, whose face was swollen like a pig’s head, and his Pet, and navigated directly to the task publisher’s home based on the location provided.

When she arrived at the destination, she found a large crowd gathered at the entrance, watching.

Qiao Sang squeezed in and found the task publisher arguing with two police officers in uniform.

“So much time has passed! You haven’t even found the location! What if that child gets into trouble!” Mai Ya shouted loudly.

That child? Was she talking about me? Qiao Sang was stunned for a moment.

“Madam, please calm down,” the Black police officer said impatiently:

“We’ve already arrived as quickly as possible, and you didn’t give us a specific location. It takes time to find the correct area, and you should know that we are always short-staffed here.”

Mai Ya cursed loudly:

“What do you police have…”

Before she could finish, Qiao Sang walked forward, holding Steel Treasure, and pretended to know nothing, asking, “Is something wrong?”

These seven short words made Mai Ya stop cursing.

She was stunned for a moment, then seemed to remember something, looking up at the sky nervously. Seeing no trace of the Scale Armor Moths, Mai Ya visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

Knowing that the black-haired girl in front of them was the person to be rescued from the emergency call, the police quickly left without a moment’s delay.

What the Black police officer said earlier was not perfunctory; the Police Station in the Lower Tenth District was indeed short-staffed.

Seeing that there was no more excitement to watch, the surrounding onlookers quickly dispersed.

“Are you hurt?” Mai Ya asked with concern.

Being swollen like a pig’s head, I wonder if that counts as being hurt… Qiao Sang shook her head and said:

“No.”

“I heard that the scales of Scale Armor Moths are toxic and can cause allergic reactions. If not treated promptly, over time, it can even cause hallucinations,” Mai Ya said with genuine admiration:

“I can’t believe there were so many Scale Armor Moths, and you didn’t get any scales on you at all.”

Qiao Sang coughed:

“Actually, I did get a little, but I have a Pet that knows Healing skills, so it healed me.”

This Pet actually knows Healing skills… Mai Ya automatically ruled out the Ghost-type Pet whose name she couldn’t recall, the Little Steel Falcon, and the possibility of another Pet. She looked in shock at Steel Treasure, whom Qiao Sang was currently holding.

While the two were talking, the Mu La Monster reluctantly looked at the Xiao Nvhai who hadn’t noticed it, then turned and left with a lonely back.

Only Steel Treasure noticed it.

It silently watched the Mu La Monster’s retreating figure and said nothing.

It was only when the Mu La Monster was about to disappear around the corner that Steel Treasure looked at its Yu Beast Master, remembering that her task was to send the Mu La Monster far away from this place.

If the Mu La Monster didn’t go far and came back later, she would probably be in a difficult position…

“Gang Gang.”

Steel Treasure sighed inwardly and flapped its wing against Qiao Sang’s shoulder, reminding her.

When Qiao Sang turned her head, Steel Treasure pointed its wing in the direction of the Mu La Monster.

Qiao Sang raised her eyebrows and called out:

“Xiao Xunbao.”

“Xun ~”

Xiao Xunbao cried out, its eyes glowing blue.

The next second, the Mu La Monster returned to its original spot.

“Mu Mu?”

The Mu La Monster looked utterly bewildered.

Mai Ya then remembered the existence of the Mu La Monster.

“Everything this Mu La Monster did earlier was probably to warn you that there were Scale Armor Moths in your house,” Qiao Sang said.

Mai Ya was stunned at her words, and a few seconds later, she realized, “No wonder it kept sneaking in and trying to attack the walls in the room.”

But then she thought about it again and asked in confusion, “But why did it do that?”

“That’s a question for this Mu La Monster,” Qiao Sang looked at the Mu La Monster.

Mai Ya and the Xiao Nvhai also looked over.

“Mu Mu…”

The Mu La Monster showed a bewildered expression.

Suddenly, the Xiao Nvhai tugged at her mother’s clothes and said clearly:

“Mom, it looks so much like that Pet in the trash can.”

Hearing this, the Mu La Monster’s body instantly stiffened.

“What Pet in the trash can?” Mai Ya asked.

“Just the Pet in the trash can, don’t you remember? I even gave it something to eat,” the Xiao Nvhai explained.

“How could that be?” Mai Ya said with a smile, denying it.

She still remembered this matter; it was two years ago.

It was raining that day. She was picking up her daughter from kindergarten and had bought corn cakes. As soon as she bought them and walked a few steps, she noticed a trash can moving by the roadside.

Her daughter was so scared that she immediately hid behind her. Just as she was about to leave with her daughter, a very, very small wild Pet crawled out of the trash can.

That Pet had a fierce expression, but it was clearly very young and had no deterrent power when it tried to act fierce.

Her daughter probably saw how small it was and wasn’t afraid anymore, even giving it the corn cake she had just bought.

The reason she remembered it so clearly was because that Pet’s expression instantly became blank when it saw the corn cake offered to it, looking soft and adorable, very different from the wild Pets in her impression.

Mai Ya recalled the past and continued:

“That wasn’t a Mu La Monster, that was a Little La…”

At this point, Mai Ya froze.

Little La Monster is the Beginner form of the Mu La Monster…

I find writing stories to be a very magical thing. When I first conceived this plot, I thought that the Xiao Nvhai would unintentionally bring up this matter after the Mu La Monster had left, leaving some regret in the plot. But as I wrote, it turned into a perfect ending.
