Beast Taming: Starting From Zero
Chapter 562: Rice on merit
“What is this…?” Qiao Sang frowned, looking at the corrosive saliva on the ground, then looked up.
She saw a bird-type Pet about two meters tall, almost entirely black, with a single tuft of hair on its head, looking in the direction of Steel Treasure before retracting its gaze and flying forward, flapping its wings.
Qiao Sang turned to look at Little Steel Falcon, relieved after confirming it was unharmed, then looked back in the direction of the bird-type Pet.
She saw it had landed next to a white-haired boy wearing a Sahel school uniform.
The boy had brown hair and blue eyes, and an outstanding temperament; he was the one who had stared at Steel Treasure with an unfriendly expression at the school gate earlier.
Qiao Sang still remembered the introduction about him.
He was Cyrillo Thompson, the son of the B-level Beast Tamer whose contract was forcibly terminated by Fixed Armor Yoduo.
After recognizing who the other party was, Qiao Sang’s frown deepened.
Judging by their position, this bird-type Pet with poisonous saliva should be Thompson’s Pet.
If it were someone else’s Pet or a wild Pet, it might be an accident.
But if it was Thompson’s Pet, it felt like it wasn’t as simple as an accident.
After all, it had even been reported that he disliked the Little Steel Falcon species, and even Yu Beast Masters who contracted Little Steel Falcon were considered brainless.
With such a persona, it was hard not to overthink it.
Thompson, not far away, glanced at Little Steel Falcon, then revealed a sneer, waved his hand to recall his Pet, and turned to leave.
Qiao Sang, whose eyesight was excellent due to the back-feeding, clearly saw his facial expression.
She narrowed her eyes and said, “Little Qunbao, take me to that person.”
“Qun~”
Little Qunbao called out, hidden from view.
The next second, Qiao Sang, holding Ya!, instantly moved in front of Thompson, with the rarely bewildered Little Steel Falcon beside her.
Thompson was startled, seeing the girl appear out of thin air in front of him.
Before he could speak, Qiao Sang went straight to the point: “Were you intentional?”
“This Pet can even use Space Movement…” Thompson subtly glanced at the miniaturized Ya!, calmed himself, and said, “Student, I don’t know what you are talking about; I don’t know you at all.”
Qiao Sang looked at him: “Whether it was intentional or not, you’ll know if you let me touch you.”
Thompson: “???”
Thompson looked at Qiao Sang in shock for several seconds, just as he was about to say something.
Qiao Sang said, “Ya!, Touch Sense.”
“Ya!”
Ya! called out, extending its paw towards Thompson.
Thompson instinctively tried to step back, but he suddenly found himself unable to move.
His heart tightened, and he immediately realized something, looking to the side.
He saw a Pet that hadn’t been there before suddenly appear next to Little Steel Falcon.
It looked like a Ghost-type Pet, staring at him with glowing blue eyes.
“This Ghost-type Pet can use Superpower…” Thompson instantly understood why he couldn’t move, and his eyes widened in astonishment.
“A near-extinct Pet and a Fire-type plus Superpower System Pet weren’t enough; this exchange student from Blue Star actually has a Ghost-type plus Superpower System Pet?!”
“Isn’t that a bit too exaggerated?”
“Ya Ya!”
“Ya Ya!”
In that moment of shock, Ya! opened its eyes, retracted its paw, and angrily recounted what it had just seen to its Yu Beast Master.
“Ya Ya!”
After speaking, it bared its fangs at Thompson with a fierce expression.
“Steel Steel…”
Little Steel Falcon looked at Ya! with shining eyes.
“So amazing, it even has such a magical skill…”
“You heard it too.” Qiao Sang said expressionlessly, “What else do you have to say?”
Thompson looked utterly bewildered.
What did he hear?
The Pet’s words?
This wasn’t his Pet, how could he understand!
However, it wasn’t difficult to guess what the Fire-type plus Superpower System Pet had just said, as it used Touch Sense; it seemed to have seen the scene where he instructed the Poisonous Erosion Eagle… Thompson took a deep breath, no longer pretending, and said seriously, “Someone as powerful as you shouldn’t contract a Little Steel Falcon.”
Qiao Sang scoffed, “Just because your father’s contract was forcibly terminated by Fixed Armor Yoduo, you target all Pets of the Little Steel Falcon species? Isn’t that a bit too extreme?”
Thompson’s face instantly turned ugly: “What do you know!”
Qiao Sang didn’t continue to argue with him about this matter.
Everyone’s thoughts are different, and once a person gets stuck in a rut, it’s difficult for them to view something objectively.
She wasn’t the protagonist in some anime; it was impossible for her to change the other person’s mind just by talking.
Qiao Sang looked at Little Qunbao.
Little Qunbao immediately understood, its eyes glowing purple as it looked at Thompson.
On the day of this friendly match, incidents like this, where there was an intent to harm another’s Pet but it hadn’t succeeded, would only be downplayed, most likely treated as if nothing had happened.
This was not what Qiao Sang wanted.
Little Qunbao’s eyes quickly returned to their original golden color, making Thompson, who had seen purple, almost think it was his imagination.
“Don’t attack my Little Steel Falcon again.” Qiao Sang said expressionlessly.
Steel Treasure looked at the human who had become its Yu Beast Master,愣ing for a moment, and a strong sense of security inexplicably surged in its heart.
It thought for a moment, then silently suppressed the thought of tracking down this human who intended to harm it and secretly spitting saliva on his head.
…
“Why were you chatting with Thompson?” When Qiao Sang returned to the group, Hugh Lewis leaned over and asked curiously.
“Nothing, just a casual chat.” Qiao Sang didn’t want to elaborate.
Alva, hearing the conversation, approached with a smile and said, “Cyrillo Thompson, who was just chatting with you, was originally one of the participants in this friendly match.
His team battle skills are among the top three in our senior year.
Unfortunately, Teacher Madeline calculated it later and said that if he participated this time, he would lose badly, so the school replaced him.”
“Not participating was his regret.
I saw him watching your match, so he probably wanted to challenge you to a spar.
Did I guess correctly?”
“You guessed well, don’t guess next time…” Qiao Sang said, “I regret he didn’t challenge me to a spar.”
“Then he must have been Taunting you…” Alva silently glanced at the quiet Little Steel Falcon beside them.
Thompson’s father’s matter was known by almost the entire school.
Qiao Sang then thought of something and asked with interest, “By the way, you just said Teacher Madeline calculated something; does your school have a fortune-telling teacher?”
Hugh Lewis also looked over with interest.
“It’s her Pet.” Alva smiled and said, “She has a Zeus Rice.
If you give it two directions, it can accurately calculate which direction is the most correct.”
Zeus Rice? Why does this ability sound so familiar? Qiao Sang pondered slightly and immediately remembered where she had heard of this ability.
She asked, “What is its relationship with Zeus Mu?”
“As expected of someone from Blue Star, you don’t even know this.” Alva said, “Zeus Rice is Zeus Mu’s General-level form.”
So it was Zeus Mu’s General-level form.
Qiao Sang immediately lost interest.
She still remembered the scene where You Na’s Zeus Mu had just calculated who would win, and then the person lost the next second.
At this moment, Alva pointed to a building in front and said, “Teacher Madeline’s office is right here.
Do you want to go and see? Maybe you’ll have a chance to meet her and let her calculate something for you.”
After speaking, seeing Qiao Sang had no reaction, she added, “It’s very accurate.”
