Beast Taming: Starting From Zero

Chapter 448: First Glory Pet Battle Battlefield

Shouyao Pet Arena.

At this moment, at the entrance of the arena, various large Flying-type Pets were gathered.

The main transportation route in the central region is by air, so Flying-type Pets are the most common.

Here, large Flying-type Pets are not necessarily high-level; it’s possible that their species’ natural size is several times larger than normal Flying-types.

These types of Flying-type Pets are exceptionally popular every year when schools gather for competitions, especially during the National Competition stage of the National Campus Pet Beast League.

Because at the National Competition, hundreds of media outlets gather, and at the entrance, there will be numerous reporters and cameras conducting live broadcasts. Eye-catching large Flying-type Pets often quickly capture everyone’s attention, and descending from an uncommon large Flying-type Pet when reporters are broadcasting also looks more impressive.

“Look what I see?! A Vajra Seat!” A male reporter with slightly curly hair and a refined appearance held a microphone, watching a large, mostly silver-gray Flying-type Pet slowly descend, and exclaimed loudly, “Which school would actually arrive riding a Vajra Seat?!”

The accompanying cameraman turned his lens towards the silver-gray Flying-type Pet not far away.

As students wearing the same school uniform successively jumped down from the Vajra Seat, the male reporter excitedly said:

“They’re coming down, they’re coming down, they’re coming down! This uniform is… Oubo Pet Beast High School!”

“Oubo Pet Beast High School is a high school from our central region! In last year’s National Campus Pet Beast League, students from first to third year all advanced to the National Competition. This year’s third-year student who advanced to the National Competition is Chen Chao, who won 18th place nationally in the second-year division last year!”

“How will he perform this year?”

Soon, a newly landed Flying-type Pet caught his eye again.

“Wow! A Pearl White Eagle!” The male reporter was full of excitement: “This is a Pet from the Guri Region. Could the students sitting on it be participants from the Guri Region?”

Before the male reporter could identify which high school the students descending from the Pearl White Eagle were from, a Pet with four legs, two pairs of magnificent orange-yellow wings, a long tail, three shell plates covering its lower jaw and abdomen, and three small triangular wings on each side of its head, suddenly landed on the ground from the sky.

Dust flew, and powerful air currents formed circles around its body.

Although its descent was incredibly swift, due to these air currents, not a single strand of hair on the students riding it was disturbed.

All the reporters’ gazes turned towards it.

The male reporter instantly forgot about the previous Pearl White Eagle, and with an excited expression, he introduced the Pet with two pairs of magnificent orange-yellow wings:

“A Twin-Winged Wave Dragon! Besides Di Du Zhi Shang Yu Shou High School from our central region, I can’t think of any other high school that could have such a grand display, allowing students to ride a Twin-Winged Wave Dragon to the competition site!”

The camera zoomed in. The boys descending from the Twin-Winged Wave Dragon were dressed in dark blue suits with a golden yellow school emblem on the right chest, paired with white shirts and ties. The girls wore dark blue dresses with white collars and bow ties. The exquisite style of their school uniforms was distinctly different from those worn by students from other schools around them.

“It really is Di Du Zhi Shang Yu Shou High School! Last year’s National Campus Pet Beast League third-year champion was from Di Du Zhi Shang Yu Shou High School! I wonder if this year’s championship will fall to their school again!”

“This year, Zhao Chuanyu, a student from Di Du Zhi Shang Yu Shou High School, achieved first place in the regional qualifiers held in the central, Tuwei, and Chong Dao regions.”

Everyone was currently focused on the students from Di Du Zhi Shang Yu Shou High School descending from the Twin-Winged Wave Dragon, and no one noticed a medium-sized, mostly gray Flying-type Pet that had just landed behind them.

“We’re here, 522 yuan total. Scan code or cash?” the woman on the gray Flying-type Pet asked.

“Scan code, please,” Sun Boyi said, taking out his phone.

After paying, the three walked towards the entrance.

Qiao Sang looked around.

She saw groups of students wearing the same school uniforms walking together, and it seemed she was the only one wearing her school’s uniform alone.

She couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Why does it seem like so many students from every school have come?”

Sun Boyi thought for a moment and said, “They should all be here to watch the competition.”

Isn’t that obvious? If they didn’t come to watch, would they come to compete… Qiao Sang complained inwardly, then rephrased her question: “Why have students from schools in other regions also come to watch? Today isn’t the weekend; it should be hard to get leave, right?”

Although she didn’t recognize which region the students in uniforms were from, a little thought told her that not everyone present could be high school students from the central region.

Regions are far apart. It’s understandable for high school students in the central region to come watch the competition, but it’s a bit exaggerated for high school students from other regions to come, especially since it’s a recognized fact that getting leave in high school is difficult. A round trip, just to watch one match, would probably require at least three days of leave.

Sun Boyi smiled and said, “It’s not easy for a school to have a student advance to the National Competition. Isn’t it normal for fellow students to take leave to watch? You know, this is the National Competition.”

Qiao Sang was silent for a few seconds, then asked, “Has anyone from our school come?”

Sun Boyi: “…”

Liu Yao, next to him, paused, then quietly picked up his phone to edit a message.

Since its establishment, Saint Water Middle School’s best performance in the individual combat group of the National Campus Pet Beast League was only placing in the regional qualifiers; no one had ever advanced to the National Competition. How would they know what it was like for other schools participating in the National Competition?

In the stands, students from various schools in different regions held up colorful banners, enthusiastically shouting pre-prepared cheers.

The names of almost all participating athletes in the National Competition were called out, except for Qiao Sang’s.

Sun Boyi sat in the athlete area, feeling awkward. This was his first time bringing a student to the National Competition, and he hadn’t expected such a situation.

The thought that everyone else would have groups of students from their schools shouting slogans and cheering, while Qiao Sang wouldn’t, made him feel a bit uneasy.

Qiao Sang didn’t mind; she surveyed the scene in the arena.

It was an open-air venue, packed with people in all directions, but the entire arena was not even half the size of the venue used for the regional qualifiers in the Ancient Mist Region.

It wasn’t that the central region didn’t value the National Competition, but rather that the Ancient Mist Region had placed too much importance on the regional qualifiers at the time, directly utilizing their best venue.

The Shouyao Pet Arena itself is normally used for large-scale high school and university competitions, so it’s considered a normal size.

“Chomp, chomp!”

At this moment, a small, mostly brown and white Flying-type Pet, holding a basket filled with various drinks and snacks in its claws, and with a QR code hanging around its neck, passed in front of Qiao Sang, barking as it went.

“Ya Ya!”

Ya Bao’s eyes lit up, and it pointed its claws at the passing brown and white Flying-type Pet, letting out a cry.

“Chomp, chomp!”

The brown and white Flying-type Pet was very quick-witted; it immediately turned around and flew back in front of Qiao Sang.

“Ya…”

Ya Bao looked at the various snacks in the basket, showing an expression of “What should I choose?”

“I’ll take them all,” Qiao Sang said.

Ya Bao: “!!!”

“Chomp, chomp!”

The brown and white Flying-type Pet excitedly barked, immediately adjusted its flight height, and aimed the QR code directly at Qiao Sang.
