Beast Taming: Starting From Zero

Chapter 111: Four groups

“You pull me in,” Qiao Sang said.

They had already added each other as friends yesterday.

“Okay,” Jin Feifan responded.

Soon, Qiao Sang’s phone chimed with a notification.

After quickly finishing the entire siomai, Qiao Sang pulled out her phone from her pocket to check it.

The group name was simple and clear: Freshman Training Group.

Including her, there were 14 people in this group. Qiao Sang remembered that Vice Principal said there were two teachers, and if the teachers were counted, the number seemed to be just right.

The group announcement stated the time and location of the gathering, as well as some important notes.

9 AM, Training Ground No. 2.

Qiao Sang checked the time: 7:45 AM, still early.

Her phone kept chiming with notifications; the people in the group were chatting lively early in the morning.

Qiao Sang hesitated for a moment, then changed the standard mode to silent mode.

She definitely needed to carry her phone with her, and it couldn’t be making noise during training.

In the group.

[Fang Qi: Those who joined, please change your nickname, everyone needs to use their own name]

[Peng Xiaoyuan: Oh wow, everyone’s here, everyone’s here]

[Jiang Nai: Looking at the avatar, it seems to be a girl]

[Wang Jihang: Everyone’s up so early]

[Lu You: The person was pulled in by Jin Feifan, so it should be a boy]

[Fang Qi: Jin Feifan is a girl, right? I think I saw her during the special enrollment examination]

[Jiang Nai: How can a girl be named Jin Feifan]

[Lu Liangye: A girl]

[Jiang Nai: Oh, how do you know]

Lu Liangye leaned against the headboard, looking at the messages in the group.

How did he know? Yesterday, after leaving Vice Principal’s office, he checked the group list and found that person wasn’t in the group yet. Now that everyone was here, who else could it be but her?

[Lu Liangye: I’m talking about the new person in the group, I just saw her at Vice Principal’s office yesterday]

[Jiang Nai: Who asked you about the new person in the group? We’re discussing Jin Feifan]

[Lu Liangye: …]

Qiao Sang looked at the group messages for a while, changed her nickname to her own name, and then put her phone aside to continue eating breakfast.

“Then I’ll treat you to dinner,” Qiao Sang said.

“Okay!” Jin Feifan said happily.

Her roommate seemed very nice, and felt less scary than her two Pets.

“How come the people in the group don’t even know if you’re a boy or a girl? Haven’t you spoken at all?” Qiao Sang asked.

Jin Feifan said sheepishly, “I’m a bit shy.”

Qiao Sang was a little surprised; some introverted people are bad at socializing offline but act aggressively online. She didn’t expect Jin Feifan to be the same in reality as she was online.

8:55 AM.

Training Ground No. 2.

“Who else hasn’t arrived?” a tall man with skin even fairer than a woman’s asked, leaning against the wall.

A woman in a professional suit beside him looked at the documents in her hand and compared them one by one with the children who had already arrived.

“There are two more girls, one named Qiao Sang and one named Jin Feifan,” Qin Wen replied.

“Why do women, big or small, have such a poor sense of time?” the man complained.

Qin Wen glanced at him and said faintly, “The gathering is at 9 AM, and it’s only 8:55 AM now. The time hasn’t arrived yet. The one with the worst sense of time should be you, Luo Qian.”

“Didn’t I come early today?” Luo Qian retorted.

“Heh,” Qin Wen sneered, “Late for eight out of ten meetings, completely absent for the last special enrollment examination on self-awakening, and nearly 40 minutes late for the coordinated special enrollment examination. Do I need to say more?”

“Sister, you’re my sister, okay? I just said one sentence, do you have to be so sharp with me?” Luo Qian said, relenting.

“Don’t, I’m 31, you’re 32. I can’t bear to be called ‘sister,’” Qin Wen said with a cold face.

Luo Qian: “…”

No wonder she hasn’t married yet; who could stand this temper? I wonder who will be so unlucky in the future…

“When we group up later, I’ll let you choose first, okay?” Luo Qian said helplessly.

“Do you have any sense of responsibility? This is about selecting the best lineup to counter Lituan, not playing house. You should choose as you should,” Qin Wen said, dissatisfied.

Luo Qian: “…”

At this moment, the gate of the training ground was pushed open, and two girls appeared before everyone.

Time: 8:59 AM.

Qiao Sang was actually full after eating five siomai.

But seeing a table full of food, she felt it would be a waste to not eat some of everything, so she took a few bites of each. As a result, she overate and got a stomachache, which delayed her.

When the two rushed to Training Ground No. 2, they arrived just in time.

Training Ground No. 2 was indoors. As soon as she reached the entrance, Qiao Sang heard the voices of a group of people talking inside.

Upon entering, ten boys and girls looked over in unison, and the conversation ceased abruptly, plunging the spacious training ground into an eerie silence.

Qiao Sang walked straight in. She had sharp eyes and immediately spotted a few familiar faces.

Three of them she had seen during the special enrollment examination, and one was Lu You, whom she had met at the Bai Xin Competition.

“Alright, everyone’s here, come gather,” Qin Wen said, clapping her hands.

She looked at the two girls who had just entered, very pleased. They weren’t late, which perfectly slapped Luo Qian’s face, and…

Qin Wen’s gaze subtly shifted to the girl holding a Fire Fang Dog and with a Treasure Hunting Ghost on her head.

Although Vice Principal had already mentioned it, seeing it with her own eyes still felt incredibly unbelievable.

But it was a good thing Vice Principal had told her, giving her some mental preparation, otherwise, her authority as a teacher might have been completely lost on the first day.

“Holy crap, how did this girl bring two Pets! And look at what she brought, a Fire Fang Dog, and a Treasure Hunting Ghost!” Luo Qian whispered, his face full of shock.

Qin Wen ignored him. This pervert must have been busy chasing girls and hadn’t checked the work group.

The 12 students quickly lined up side by side, their respective Pets also beside them.

Qiao Sang observed them.

Little Qiu Pu, Short-tailed Snake, Water Ring Ctenopharyngodon idella, Little Horned Dragon, Electric Bat, Shen Mao Turtle, Lijian Sparrow, Lili Duck, Bubble Bell, Long-eared Cat, Ice Snow Tanuki.

Adding her Fire Fang Dog and Little Treasure Hunting Ghost, there were no duplicate attributes.

The girl standing next to Qiao Sang leaned over and whispered, “Qiao Dalao, do you remember me?”

Qiao Sang looked over and nodded, “I remember, Zheng Yining.”

Zheng Yining said happily, “I didn’t expect us to meet so soon.”

“I didn’t expect it either,” Qiao Sang said.

She originally thought that all the students participating in the training would be strong in combat, but after seeing these Pets, she knew she was wrong.

Little Qiu Pu, Lijian Sparrow, and Long-eared Cat clearly didn’t belong to the combat type.

If considering suitability for individual beast-taming combat competitions, among so many freshmen in the school, there would clearly be better choices.

Qiao Sang pondered for a moment and thought of another possibility.

Could it be that these 12 people were all selected from those with poor academic scores?

“This is our first meeting. Of course, some of you may have seen us during the special enrollment examination.”

“The 12 of you were selected by all of us teachers. Some of you are recommended students, some are special enrollment students who self-awakened, and some are special enrollment students who passed the coordinated examination.”

“This time, we’ve gathered you here, and through training, we will divide you into four groups: a 3-person individual combat group, a 3-person team combat group, a 3-person individual coordination group, and a 3-person team coordination group.”

“Let me introduce myself, I am Qin Wen, responsible for the individual combat and team combat groupings this time,” Qin Wen said.

“I am Luo Qian, you can call me Teacher Luo or Teacher Qian, I am responsible for the individual coordination and team coordination groupings,” Luo Qian said with a smile.
