Apocalypse I Have One More Keyword Than Others
Chapter 915 - - 613 Duge planted a seed
—————✧✧✧✧—————
Birmingham looked at Duge, then scanned the entire starry battlefield before finally nodding: “Alright.”
Whether it was the War God Ship’s firepower or those rag-tag forces outside Emperor Star, they all posed potential harm to the Emperor’s Guard I.
He couldn’t take that gamble.
He wouldn’t allow this beautiful planet to suffer even the slightest nick.
Duge smiled and instantaneously moved to the top of a ring-shaped mountain on the Emperor’s Guard I, quietly waiting for Birmingham.
Birmingham hesitated for a moment before appearing beside Duge.
The Emperor’s Guard I was desolate and silent, devoid of greenery, devoid of life.
Duge looked down from the mountaintop at the pocked surface: “Birmingham, look at these craters made by meteorite strikes, look at that weathered ground. She’s like a woman who has weathered hardships, ripe and enchanting. Three months ago, not even a soul had set foot on this beautiful planet…”
“What are you trying to say?” Birmingham glared at Duge with resentment, cutting him off. His face was as dark as the bottom of a pot. Duge’s words, though meant as praise, sounded so grating in his ears, as if his most precious possession had been violated.
“War God brother, the Thorne Divine Tribe is almost here. You wouldn’t want this planet to be harmed either, would you?” Duge said with a faint smile.
“You…” Birmingham’s eyes immediately reddened, “What have you done to me? I shouldn’t have fallen in love with a planet…”
“Love, you’ve been blessed by the God Spirit of love,” Duge said with a smile.
“Blessed, more like cursed!” Birmingham clenched his fists tightly, suddenly raising his head to look in the direction of the Saine Mothership, “It’s her, isn’t it?”
Duge saw through Birmingham’s thoughts and reminded him: “Birmingham, if you kill her, no one in the world will be able to lift your blessing. You’ll be bound to this planet for lifetimes, may even sacrifice your life to protect her.”
“The planet is so beautiful, what’s the harm in giving my life for her?” Birmingham subconsciously said, but soon, he caught himself, grinding his teeth, “Nothing can constrain a God Spirit. If this planet becomes my weakness, I will destroy it with my own hands…”
“Would you really be able to do that?” Duge countered.
“I…” Birmingham hesitated, his gaze falling on the ground of the Emperor’s Guard I, Duge’s words once again piercing his heart.
Indeed, this planet was truly too perfect!
Every meteorite crater exuded a charm that intoxicated him. Could he really bring himself to do it?
“Once you destroy her, it will become the regret of your life. In the dead of night, the image of her shattering before you will be like a steel knife, constantly stabbing at your heart. You will suffer for the rest of your days, with no chance of ever making amends,” Duge’s voice flowed gently like a stream through the mountains, invading Birmingham’s mind with a vivid image, “After all, you can’t recreate a planet.”
“Enough,” Birmingham’s eyes were bloodshot with rage as he roared, “What the hell do you want?”
“I can help you remove this threat,” Duge said.
“How?” asked Birmingham.
“I want the Thorne Divine Tribe’s territory,” Duge said.
“Impossible, with your strength you can’t defeat the Thorne Divine Tribe, and neither can I,” Birmingham’s mind was clear about matters not involving the Emperor’s Guard I. He looked at Duge with disdain, “You’re too greedy.”
“The Heavenly Gods Clan came for the Origin of Mankind, ready to make enemies of the Thorne Divine Tribe, right?” Duge smiled, taking out the Origin of Mankind, “If the whole universe is drawn into war, I might just have a chance.”
“You definitely have no chance,” Birmingham sneered, “Do you know how many years a war could last? How much resources and effort the Divine Race would need to invest? Even if we won the war, why should we hand over the territory to you?”
…
Duge was silent for a moment, “What if the two of us…?”
“What do you mean?” Birmingham asked.
“The two of us take down the Thorne Divine Tribe’s territory and rule as Divine Kings together,” Duge said in a lower voice.
…
Birmingham looked at Duge incredulously, as if looking at an idiot, “Do you know what you’re talking about?”
“I do, that’s why I used the Origin of Mankind to spark this conflict, and everyone has taken the bait,” Duge said, his gaze deep, “Without my involvement, the Heavenly Gods Clan would still wage war against the Thorne Divine Tribe after getting the Origin of Mankind. I just want to get my due share of the benefits.”
“You alone?” Birmingham laughed, “Here’s an idea: you can drop the daydream about getting the Thorne Divine Tribe’s territory. You’re powerful - I’ll introduce you to the Heavenly Gods Clan, and have the Divine King bestow you as a Main God. A Main God is also entitled to manage a star domain.”
“Birmingham, you are a demigod, aren’t you?” Duge shook his head and asked, smiling.
“Yes,” a flash of displeasure crossed Birmingham’s face.
“I’ve heard it said, how can a great man languish forever beneath others?” Duge said, “War God brother, have you truly never dreamt of one day sitting in the Divine King’s place, commanding the world?”
…
Birmingham was stunned.
“Times of chaos bring forth heroes,” Duge rotated the Origin of Mankind in his hand and spoke solemnly, “The war is about to begin, and war often means a reshuffle. As long as in this war, all the God Spirits ranked before you fall, the throne of Divine King will naturally fall to you. War God brother, in the end, one must have dreams…”
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Birmingham’s expression changed dramatically, staring at Duge, “Don’t think of sowing discord. I will never betray the Divine King. You have no idea how powerful he is; he is immortal.”
“Immortal?” Duge looked up at the sky and shook his head, “Even the universe has a time of demise; no one is immortal.”
