Apocalypse I Have One More Keyword Than Others
Chapter 728 - - 544 Let’s give master a surprise_3
—————✧✧✧✧—————
“I know, Master has entrusted me with a task,” Duge nodded, looking at Qing Luan, “Senior brother, Master might not have told you, but I am on a mission during my training.”
“What mission?” Asked Qing Luan, disinterestedly.
What mission could there be for someone in the Unity Stage of their training, other than the Master fooling a child to broaden his horizons?
“Master is attempting to break through to the Golden Immortal Realm, and wants to use me as the focal point to secretly cultivate a new force.” Duge looked up at the sky and transmitted his voice to Qing Luan.
“Golden Immortal?” Qing Luan’s pupils shuddered.
Hush!
Duge placed his finger on his lips, looked around, then with a wave of his hand, erected a screen of water to shield them both. He lowered his voice and said, “Senior brother, let me show you something good.”
Qing Luan looked at Duge curiously and then his eyes widened, “Daoist Rhyme?”
“Exactly, Daoist Rhyme.” The Daoist Rhyme around Duge disappeared in a flash, and he said with pride, “Senior brother, now you understand why Master took me as his disciple! With the Daoist Rhyme in me, not only can he attain the status of a Golden Immortal, but he might also have the chance to become a Daluo Golden Immortal…”
Daluo Golden Immortal?
Qing Luan’s mind went blank, as if he had stopped thinking altogether in that moment.
After several catastrophic disasters, many great powers had fallen.
In the Heavenly Court now, there were no more than a hundred Daluo Golden Immortals, and each Daluo held the most crucial positions, like several Emperors and Heavenly Venerables…
It was said that the Cultivation Level of both the Immortal Emperor and the Queen Mother of the West were that of Daluo Golden Immortals. For millions of years, they hadn’t taken the step to become Mixed Yuan Holy Men and proclaimed themselves as Quasi-Saints, but a Quasi-Saint was essentially a Daluo Golden Immortal!
He dared not ponder, if one day their Master became a Daluo Golden Immortal, how high would the status of his disciples become?
“Junior brother, is this really what the Master said?” Qing Luan, holding back his excitement, transmit his trembling voice to Duge.
“Master only mentioned Golden Immortal. The part about Daluo Golden Immortal is something I added for him,” Duge patted his chest and said.
“…” Qing Luan was speechless.
He rolled his eyes at Duge, took a deep breath to calm his emotions.
Even becoming a Golden Immortal was not too bad.
Becoming a Golden Immortal meant, at the very least, not having to waste years in the Mortal Realm where Spiritual Energy was scarce.
Carrying the name of a Great Emperor might seem grand, but in reality, one only governed a group of Yin Gods. Other than reporting to the heavens, it wasn’t much different from being exiled.
“Senior brother, Master told me that we can’t let this information leak out. If it got out, it would negatively impact Master and could likely result in someone sabotaging us,” said Duge, “But I’ve thought it over and decided to tell you anyway. You’re accompanying me during my training and there’s a lot I don’t understand. If there’s something I might do wrong, you could correct me.”
“You did right by telling me,” said Qing Luan with pursed lips, “but you mustn’t tell anyone else about this mission, or the fact that you carry Daoist Rhyme.”
“Okay, I’ll listen to you, senior brother,” said Duge, nodding his head, “Senior brother, let’s first make a trip to Dragon Tiger Mountain!”
“What for?” Qing Luan asked.
“When Xu Jinghui brought me here that day, weren’t you out, senior brother?” said Duge, “Do you know why they asked you to leave?”
“Why?” Qing Luan asked, frowning.
“Because he wants to break away from Heavenly Master Xu and establish his own sect. He plans to use Master’s influence to support him, and I am his bargaining chip.” Duge pointed at himself proudly and continued, “Our trip to Dragon Tiger Mountain is to give them a dose of reassurance, to let them know that Master values them greatly.”
“Is this what Master instructed?” Qing Luan asked.
“Yes,” Duge nodded without hesitation.
Waving a tiger’s skin banner, after all, the South Peak Emperor was in seclusion. Wasn’t everything up to his say? He had to integrate all the forces before the ranking was announced, in order to confront the unknown dangers.
Or to put it another way, he needed to drag everyone down into the water with him, binding them together.
“What sort of assistance can Dragon Tiger Mountain provide to the Master?” Qing Luan asked with a frown.
“Everyone in Dragon Tiger Mountain has comprehended the Daoist Rhyme from me for a while, and they will grow to be the most outstanding generation,” said Duge, looking at Qing Luan. “If Master is to become a Golden Immortal and solidify his standing in the Heavenly Court, he must have more allies of his own. Therefore, Master agreed to their terms.”
Wave after wave of revelations left Qing Luan stunned, his mind which had been calm for thousands of years struggled to keep up, and he numbly nodded, “If we’re dealing with a group of cultivators who’ve contemplated the Daoist Rhyme, then indeed, we should make the trip.”
“Senior brother, don’t be disheartened,” Duge looked at the dazed Qing Luan with a slight smile, “I could also secretly help you comprehend the Daoist Rhyme. Don’t tell Master; we will surprise him. Since Master is willing to support, who’s more trustworthy than his own disciples?”
“…” Qing Luan was jolted, his gaze fixed on Duge, his heartbeat quickening. In this moment, he felt as if he had glimpsed an opportunity meant just for him.
