Apocalypse I Have One More Keyword Than Others
Chapter 708 - - 538 There’s no better way to bond than getting into trouble together_1
—————✧✧✧✧—————
When it involved evil demons, the Heavenly Court was exceptionally efficient.
Soon, a disciple on rotation outside the gate came to report, “Sect Leader, Day Roaming Gods under the command of the South Peak Emperor have come to visit the mountain.”
Xu Jinkui turned to Duge.
Duge said, “They’re just two minor gods; you can handle it.”
Xu Wen’an nodded and ordered, “Please invite them in!”
The Five Peak Emperors are gods of the earthly realms bestowed by the Immortal Emperor. In name, they are Mountain Gods, but with the title of Emperor bestowed upon them, they wield great authority.
Each of the emperors manages different aspects of the mortal realm, such as rewards and punishments, status, the underworld, mountains and rivers, beasts and birds, and so forth.
They are under the jurisdiction of Emperor Donghua.
The command of the Five Peak Emperors includes Day and Night Roaming Gods, Four Watches officials, Ding and Jia Gods, various local Mountain Gods and Earth Deities, and so on. Their rank may not match that of Heavenly Master Xu, who serves in the Heavenly Court, but they are the true wielders of power amongst the godly spirits.
…
The Day and Night Roaming Gods are Yin Gods, just like the City Gods and local deities, conferred by the emperors of the mortal realm.
Even the emperors of small countries like New Moon Country have the right to confer these Yin Gods.
The reason cultivation sects in the mortal realm try to curry favor with emperors is precisely because of these divine positions.
Nascent Soul cultivators who do not have the aptitude and whose life is nearing its end, and Integration Dao True Men without hope of overcoming the tribulation, unwilling to enter the cycle of rebirth, would request to be conferred by the emperor.
With a divine position, they could continue to exist in the form of a Yin God, retaining most of their former strength. However, after becoming a Yin God, they would be subject to others for life, their cultivation level could no longer advance, and they would remain at the lowest tier of the power hierarchy in the Immortal Realm, with little chance of further achievements.
Most ambitious cultivators do not wish to become Yin Gods.
Dragon Tiger Mountain was originally a part of these ordinary sects, but ever since Xu Wen’an ascended and became a Heavenly Master in the Immortal Court, Dragon Tiger Mountain gained access to abundant resources from the upper realm, making it rare for a Nascent Soul True Man not to reach the Unity Realm Stage.
Those at the Unity Realm Stage would risk the Heavenly Tribulation in hopes of ascending to become true immortals, after all, the foundation of Dragon Tiger Mountain lies in the Heavenly Court, not the mortal realm.
Those who overcome the tribulation either ascend or die, with virtually no chance of surviving under the tribulation of lightning to become a Yin God.
Hence, Dragon Tiger Mountain later seldom engaged in disputes over the allotment of Yin God positions with the smaller sects.
…
The visiting Day Roaming Gods numbered two at Dragon Tiger Mountain. The two revealed their figures and were led by a disciple of Dragon Tiger Mountain to the Heavenly Master Hall.
Both were dressed in cyan official robes and wore credentials for daily patrols at their waists, bowing with fists clasped to Xu Jinkui, “Day Roaming God Geng Zhong (Liu Tong) has the honor of meeting Sect Leader Xu.”
“Please have a seat, Divine Envoys,” Xu Jinkui offered with a smile. “Someone, bring tea for the Divine Envoys.”
“There’s no need for tea, Sect Leader Xu,” Geng Zhong replied with a smile. “We’re here seeking out your sect’s disciple, Liao Jiulong, to ask him a few questions.”
“It’s about the assassin who targeted Prince Duan, isn’t it?” Xu Jinkui asked directly.
“Sect Leader Xu is indeed well-informed,” Geng Zhong saluted again. “Many have pointed fingers, saying Liao Jiulong and his two disciples were together with the evil demon that ravaged Dragon Willow Villa. They were also at the scene of the assassination of Prince Duan, and after his death, the three of them disappeared.”
“There’s no need to look for him,” Xu Jinkui sighed. “To not hide anything from you two Divine Envoys, we are also searching for those three disciples. Yesterday, Liao Jiulong should have returned to Dragon Tiger Mountain to report, but he has yet to come back.
The head disciple of Sky Mist Peak, Han Jiuyun, just returned before you two and reported the incident with the evil demon to me. I’ve already dispatched more disciples to look for them.
Please return, Divine Envoys, and if Dragon Tiger Mountain finds out that Liao Jiulong colluded with evil demons, I will certainly not shield them from justice and will personally escort them to atone before the Great Emperor.”
Geng Zhong and Liu Tong exchanged a glance, agreeing with his words.
After all, Dragon Tiger Mountain is the lineage of Heavenly Master Xu. Liao Jiulong and his disciples are merely Qi Refiners; Xu Jinkui would not shield three ordinary disciples and oppose the edicts of the Immortal Court.
It made sense for Liao Jiulong and his disciples to not dare return to Dragon Tiger Mountain after such a major offense, and they were but Day Roaming Gods without the authority to risk offending Heavenly Master Xu by forcefully searching Dragon Tiger Mountain.
Their visit was merely a formality.
Geng Zhong stood up with a smile, saying, “We will then trouble Sect Leader Xu. The matter of the evil demon is of great importance; should Dragon Tiger Mountain have any news of Liao Jiulong, please make sure to inform the Great Emperor promptly.”
“I am well aware of the propriety,” Xu Jinkui said with a nod, standing up. “If the Divine Envoys have any information about the whereabouts of the three renegades from Dragon Tiger Mountain, I also ask that you inform me…”
…
A disciple led the Day Roaming Gods away.
Xu Jinkui looked at Duge, who had revealed his presence, and asked cautiously, “Great Ancestor, was there any problem with how I dealt with those two Day Roaming Gods?”
“No problem, Dragon Tiger Mountain should focus on recuperation and growth. Delaying any issue temporarily is beneficial,” Duge said meaningfully with a glance and a smile, “Jinkui, you all should concentrate on your cultivation. I’ll follow those two Day Roaming Gods and see if there are any loose ends.”
“Yes, Great Ancestor,” Xu Jinkui said deferentially with a nod.
He wished to ask his great ancestor to help him rebuild his Daoist Base, but ultimately did not dare to speak up, after all, he had yet to accomplish anything noteworthy!
…
Leaving the Heavenly Master Hall, Duge gave a glance toward the site of last night’s battle, shook his head with a chuckle, and vanished once more from the sight of Dragon Tiger Mountain, following behind the two Day Roaming Gods.
Outside Dragon Tiger Mountain.
They bid farewell to the Dragon Tiger Mountain disciple who had escorted them.
